Podcast Week 7

Shawn, Priyasha and Akansha decided to do a video podcast this week.  What did they do well? How could they improve?

  1. It is great to see you exploring different media for podcasts, well done. The photos were not easy to see on the white board and there were too many of them.

I would suggest choosing up five of the best and add them as slides in Movie Maker. It would also help to have commentary explaining the photos.

  2. Hi Girls,
I like the idea of students making a podcast of current events. What tool do you use for your podcast? How long does it take you to write, film, and edit each podcast? Any suggestions you could give my students and me would be greatly appreciated.

  3. That is so cool! I have enjoyed your podcasts but really, really enjoyed the video version. Have you seen our weekly news? We just started doing a weekly scoop and are up to episode 7. It has lead to a whole lot more learning but as the teacher i am amazed because the kids will get it done on a friday morning without fail. We made green screeing our learning focus this term - is that easy in movie maker?

  4. Thank you for all your comments.
    Thank you for your advice.
Here are the answers to your questions:

    -Windows movie maker
-it took us about 45 minutes.
-Some advice: write a script first, try and memorize, don't make it to long, face the camera and the audience (if you have one)
    -not really
    -yeah its easy

The images were difficult to see. I agree with the other comment about picking a few of the best and adding them as slides with a voiceover. For a first attempt, the video podcast was nicely done.

  6. Thanks JaymeJ.

Now that I see it properly it is kind of hard next tie we might just talk about it on the video and add a slide show at the bottom
