Waste Audit

This week we had our waste audit. Sharnika and Anitesh our Health Council members took part in sorting and measuring all that trash!

  1. Mr Wood and Team 17 - I really enjoyed this sequence of photographs, I could see it building up to the last one when the rubbish was all on the floor in a massive pile and I couldn't believe how much was there, I would love to read about how long it took to sort everything out and how the students felt in doing that, I guess we will have to wait for the end of the school holidays to find out! It would be interesting to carry this out again later in the year to see if there was more rubbish or less rubbish and its something that we could do here and maybe compare the rubbish between our schools.

  3. Well done Team 17. We did the same exercise with the rubbish at our school in Richmond Nelson. We have over 400 students and we were amazed how much "rubbish" we have in one day. As a result of this we are now recycling much of what we were throwing away.I have enjoyed reading your blog. Thank you for the comments you left about our astronaut. We are in the middle of an exciting Inquiry learning unit on Space. We hope Term 3 has started well for you. Mrs Eden and Room 13 Richmond Primary School.
