The Year 6 Garden Club has explored gardening in term one. We have sprouted beans. We have dug compost in to soil, watered and feed the plants. Some we planted as seedlings and some, like radish and carrot, from seeds. All have grown so quickly. Luckily we have not had too many problems from caterpillars, snails and birds.
Garden Club members, please tell us about your experience this term with the garden.
- What did you do?
- How have things changed?
- What has been the best thing?
- What would you do differently?
- Have you enjoyed the learning experience?
- What do you recommend for our next garden in term 4?
The best thing I like is tasting the vegetables. But the radishes not my kind. There is so many people do not like eating radish.

ReplyDeleteI planted carrots, radishes and merigold. I liked eating the plants, they are so yummy. I would like to plant watermelon next time.
ReplyDeleteMr Wood and Team 17 I am amazed by what you students have grown in the time that they have had, you've done an awesome job with your space, which is pretty mininal but you've done SO much with it - I am sure that it is encouraging your students to think about gardening at home and growing vegetables themselves! As always a great job and I have really enjoyed following your progress. Are you going to be planting anything over winter?

ReplyDeleteDear Team 17
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your reflections and looking at your photographs about your Garden Club. It is exciting to see how much you have learnt about gardening and I am sure that many of you will plant your own vegetables at home and thus help feed your families.
I also thought the the handing out of vegetables in the final assembly was an excellent idea. I am very proud of you all and think that you are lucky to have Mr. Wood as your teacher providing you with this wonderful learning.
