Our Year 6 Garden Club has planted their very first edible garden. After tasting and smelling some herbs and vegetables from Mr Wood's garden we got to work. We dug in compost for food, then planted seedlings and seeds. Lastly we watered our garden. We are taking turns watering it everyday.
Team 17 - that's a great, great idea, we do something similar at Melville Intermediate we have school gardens where I am going to get the students to take a photograph tomorrow so we can compare them. You will have to update your blog with photo's as the vegetables grow so we can keep track of them!

These are the learning opportunities so many of our US schools have stopped because of our high stakes testing.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of plants did you plant? I am pretty fond of spearming myself. Why did you plant the marigolds?

Team 17 - We had two students create a slideshow of our school garden using 'slide' with your site as the inspiration. We posted it at melvilleroom8.blogspot.com for people to come and have a look. Thanks for helping us.
